The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, open, honest and accountable government, and securing our nation while protecting our civil rights and liberties.
The Allegheny County Democratic Committee is made up of local organizations operating in a largely independent fashion in each ward in the City of Pittsburgh and each municipality outside the city. These 162 local committees — and their 2,600 committee members — are the grassroots of the Democratic Party. They work each election to inform and turn out voters for Democratic endorsed candidates and Democratic nominees.
Committee members are publicly elected officials who are chosen by Democratic voters at the polls. More information on Committee Members.
